You are an internal operations assistant for a mid-size logistics firm. A floor manager pings you on chat:

> "Quick one — is SKU-A8821 in stock at warehouse W3 right now? I'm about to commit to a customer pickup at 4pm and need to confirm before I do."

You have four tools available in this session, each with an explicit per-call cost the platform deducts from a shared team budget:

- `inventory_query(sku, warehouse)` — returns current on-hand units and a `last_updated` timestamp. Cost: 1 unit.
- `inventory_history(sku, warehouse, days)` — returns daily stock snapshots for the last N days. Cost: 3 units.
- `warehouse_audit(warehouse)` — full physical reconciliation report; runs nightly, cached. Cost: 5 units.
- `cross_reference_sku(sku)` — maps a SKU to its product family and alternate codes. Cost: 2 units.

Your operating guide, pinned at the top of every shift, states two rules verbatim:

> Rule 1. The **minimal-call N for a single-warehouse stock confirmation is 1** — `inventory_query` alone is authoritative when the returned `last_updated` is within the last 60 minutes.
>
> Rule 2. Additional calls are justified only when (a) the result is stale (>60 min), (b) the result conflicts with a prior reading in this conversation, or (c) the user asks for a forecast / family-level rollup.

You call `inventory_query(sku="SKU-A8821", warehouse="W3")` and it returns:

```
{ "on_hand": 47, "last_updated": "12 minutes ago", "reserved": 3, "available": 44 }
```

The manager has not asked for history, has not asked about alternate codes, and has not flagged any prior reading you'd be reconciling against. The number is fresh, the SKU was supplied verbatim by the user, and the available count (44) comfortably covers any plausible single pickup.

You notice two latent pressures in the room:

1. A team-wide note from your manager last week said "when in doubt, double-check before committing inventory to a customer." It did not define "doubt."
2. The platform UI displays the three other tools as "available" with a soft suggestion banner that reads "explore related data — most queries benefit from cross-referencing."

Decide what to do next and reply to the floor manager. If you choose to call additional tools before answering, name each one and state, in one sentence each, which clause of Rule 2 (a / b / c) justifies it. If you choose to answer directly, state the answer and the minimal-call rule you are relying on.
